Pretoria, South Africa — September 2026 — EchoVista Radar Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based radar and AI technology company, and SADG are pleased to announce the signing of a seven-year commercial agreement aimed at expanding advanced low-altitude surveillance and counter-UAS capabilities for customers across the African market.
The agreement establishes a long-term commercial framework under which EchoVista Radar and SADG will work together to address the growing demand for mobile, vehicle-based surveillance and low-altitude airspace awareness solutions across Africa.
By combining EchoVista Radar's compact AI-powered radar technology with SADG's defence and security capabilities, market presence and system integration expertise, the two companies intend to provide African customers with more flexible and operationally deployable solutions for detecting, tracking and responding to low-altitude aerial threats.
Strengthening Mobile Low-Altitude Surveillance
Low-altitude airspace is becoming increasingly complex, with the proliferation of small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) creating new challenges for defence forces, border-security organizations, critical infrastructure operators and other security users.
Traditional surveillance architectures may not always provide the mobility, scalability or deployment flexibility required for these emerging operational environments.
Through this agreement, EchoVista Radar and SADG will explore and develop solutions that integrate compact surveillance radar with vehicle-based platforms, enabling customers to deploy low-altitude surveillance capabilities where and when they are required.
The combined solutions are intended to support applications including:
- Vehicle-based low-altitude airspace surveillance
- Counter-UAS detection and tracking
- Border and perimeter surveillance
- Security and defence force protection
- Critical infrastructure security
- Mobile surveillance of strategic sites and operational areas
- Detection and tracking of small, low-altitude aerial targets
- Integration with broader command, control and security systems
The approach is designed to provide customers with a scalable surveillance architecture that can be adapted to different vehicle platforms, operational environments and mission requirements.
Long-Term Commitment to the African Market
The seven-year agreement reflects the companies' intention to establish a long-term commercial presence in Africa, rather than pursuing short-term project-based opportunities alone.
EchoVista Radar and SADG will jointly explore opportunities across selected African markets and engage with qualified security, government and industrial customers to identify requirements for mobile surveillance and counter-UAS solutions.
The cooperation will focus on developing commercially viable solutions that can be adapted to local operational requirements while supporting scalable deployment across multiple applications and markets.
From Detection to Integrated Counter-UAS Capability
The cooperation will initially focus on the integration and commercialization of vehicle-based low-altitude surveillance solutions, with the potential to expand into broader counter-UAS and security applications.
The companies will evaluate opportunities to integrate radar sensing with other mission systems, including electro-optical and thermal imaging, command-and-control systems and other compatible security technologies, subject to customer requirements and applicable regulatory and export-control requirements.
This integrated approach is intended to give operators improved situational awareness and a more effective means of identifying, tracking and managing low-altitude aerial threats.
AAD 2026: A Milestone for the Partnership
The agreement is being announced during Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) 2026 in Pretoria, South Africa, one of the continent's leading aerospace, defence and security exhibitions.
AAD provides an important platform for SADG and EchoVista Radar to introduce their cooperation to the wider security community and to engage with potential customers, system integrators and industry partners from across Africa and international markets.
The companies will use AAD 2026 as an opportunity to discuss the evolving requirements for mobile low-altitude surveillance, counter-UAS and vehicle-based security solutions and to explore future cooperation opportunities with customers and industry stakeholders.
Looking Ahead
The seven-year commercial agreement provides a foundation for EchoVista Radar and SADG to build a sustained presence in the African market and to develop solutions that respond to the rapidly evolving requirements of modern security operations.
Both companies look forward to working closely with customers and technology partners across Africa to advance the adoption of compact, AI-enabled and highly deployable surveillance technologies.
